bl brainstorming part 4
demon king cultivator bottom with the top who was an unwanted child of a noble sect who grew into a strange reclusive guy(??) and met the demon king on the road (who was nursing his grave (lethal for a mortal man!) wounds and still unusually friendly, but the kind of friendliness of dead men)...
anyway some shenanigans later and the reclusive guy has reverse kidnapped the demon king ("I live with you now. Im wife now.") and won't let him go. (The demon king has let himself be kidnapped.... out of amusement (but secretly he's in love with this insane and strangely happy weirdo who seems a little slow or disconnected from reality at times...)) and the strange ordinary guy is like... enamored with the demon king because this is someone she respects deeply (the demon king is full of deep wisdom and respect for life and more love than he's ever known existed) and also nobody has treated the top with such kindness before... and so she comes to reflect... perhaps the teachings of his sect are trash, and the top sees the demon king as a kind of wise senior kind of relationship, and I think the demon king isn't used to a sort of humanizing admiration like this (much before must have been admiration of power or skill...), although it doesn't always come across as sweet...
And the demon king is like... he's not doing so hot. his body is so fucked up from his intense fighting etc (idk what a demon king gets up to!) that he has very intense medicinal needs... what is sustenance for him is poison for others and vice versa... (physically and spiritually) and his psyche is barely holding on...
so he's like spitting venom but secretly loves being doted on by his wife (but his wife is also kinda hanging onto him like a stuck prickly seed to a pantleg... sometimes less doting and more "ouch let go of me!")
his wife is totally fucking insane though, and often careless around the demon king's wounds... so they clash a lot, and the demon king's "hey be careful, don't touch me there" comes across as Vicious Deadly Cruelty (he doesn't know how else to put it...) and the wife's "gentle" touches are really like daggers to the demon king...
and the demon king has a fractured soul from (whatever it takes to become the demon king), so he's EXTREMELY conflicted about this whole situation... one portion houses unparalleled exactness, another unparalleled love, and others mysteries unknown.... and so there are many conflicts where the wife's casual "normal" cruelties rip apart the demon king's psyche.... it generates internal wars that threaten his very life... disagreements about how to proceed throw his health out of balance... in the rough patches in the BL it becomes uncertain if the top can be careful enough.. will love prevail or will they each poison the air around the other... they just, they hurt each other.. and the top becomes cruel and the demon king withdraws... (nursing his psychic wounds and retreating from the top's possessive and painful unwanted touch...)
and at times the top is far more cruel than the demon king... what cruelty lies in the "kindness" of an ordinary citizen? and someone who knows violence intimately may not be so reckless with its use...
but they learn together and they love each other and then they grow old together which the demon king never imagined possible. and the strange guy had already resigned himself to a life of self deception and can now imagine a future he wants, and the demon king knows love but she knew that the whole time (nobody without love can become the demon king)
they travel to a land more lush than the barren north they meet in... and they grow fruit trees and nurture small animals and they kiss 😊
they still cut each other on their personalities, they are both a bit much at times, but they have each other and it all works out ❤️
